Education Reinvented (Khan Academy)

Ok Class, we have a Journaling activity in response to the video above. First off watch, observe, and take notes on the video above about the man who created the Khan Academy. Please respond on how you think this can help your academics. In a time when tutoring is expensive and where your GPA is extra-important to achieve your college goals, please talk about what it can do for you personally. You must watch the video and visit the website. This blog is due on Wednesday, November 6th. I'm looking for personal answers and not the same answers from everyone. If you truly look at the website, we should have different responses.

College Scavenger Hunt

I have a participation assignment for everybody to complete.  Since I noticed the majority of you are wanting to attend college, and some of you are thinking about it;  I want you to complete a college scavenger hunt.  The assignment sheet will be in your emails (check your emails).  If you don't receive one, that means you never turned in the Bio or Cartoon project to me.  Have a friend print one out for you.  Use the printer number 4250 when printing this assignment.  This is due Tuesday and this is a one day assignment.  Turn into your class cubby when done.  Photoshop quiz will be taken tomorrow.

Multiple Intelligence Theory

Hello my wonderful students.  Today I wanted to introduce for you the importance of the Multiple Intelligence Theory (MLT).  Do you ever wonder why some teachers can't teach you?  It's not because of their lack of the subject knowledge;  maybe they don't know how you learn the best.  Do you know how you learn the best?  Well MLT was discovered by a person named Howard Gardner.  It was under his belief that many people learned differently and he discovered 8 different categories under which people learn.  You may not belong to just one category.  It is possible to learn with a combination of a few.  I want you to discover what sounds like the category or categories you feel you belong in.  Your job is to Google Multiple Learning Theory; discover the categories in detail.  Tell us what category or categories you feel you learn best under.  Every teacher can't teach to that category, but you can take responsibility to your learning by using this category.  You will find a video at the bottom to help you to understand the importance of each intelligence.  Please type at a minimum 10 sentences to journal about what you found on MLT and or the video.

Cartoon Project (Photoshop skill-building)

Hello my wonderful students!  Just wanted to provide you a tutorial video that provided you a reminder of we are working on to be turned in on Monday, September 16th.  This Cartoon Project must be named, Cartoon_Period#_YourName.  Additionally the dimension of the project canvas should be either 8.5 x 11 inches or 11 x 8.5 inches.  Use the techniques in this video to get your project done.  At the conclusion of your project, email me your JPEG COPY.  Have fun remembering the good times of your childhood!
